In 1997, she had her acting debut at the age of thirteen. In 1997, she made her debut on stage as an actor when she was 13 years old. After completing several classes as well as background work on Canadian shows such as Road to Avonlea or Harriet the Spy she got her speaking role on the Canadian Kids Horror anthology Goosebumps. There were commercials too as also guest-starring in films such at Mutant X and Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story. Goosebumps was also component of her acting career. Then, in 2006 Vandervoort made her acting debut in a film, a feature titled The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode and Isla Fisher. Vandervoort's TV career started with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Her next project was the part of Clark Kent's Kryptonian Cousin "Kara Kent", (the woman who became Supergirl) as part of The CW serial-drama program Smallville. The season 7 episode was the first time she was a regular in the series. She appeared in "Bloodline", the eighth season episode. [3] In the tenth season and its final episode Smallville She returned for two more episodes. In the aftermath of The CW, Vandervoort shot the sequel of the film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2 : The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independent production. The film also featured with Canadians Michael Ironside, who appeared in two episodes of the V miniseries and also the regular 1984 V series.
