April Ross
April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players who have earned medals at least twice in an Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to win her third gold medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. It may well be that she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Nevertheless, she remains certain of taking top honors. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we do our best and even If we play our best I believe we can win the gold medal." In addition, I'll try some luck. Ross was born on the 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Along with playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. She clearly was the top at the sport of indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and outside hitting volleyball player throughout her time in high school. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her in volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time participant on the beaches long before their pairing. She has won numerous events, and one was won by an iconic volleyball player. For six years from 2007 to 2013 she teamed with Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international circuit winning the world championship in 2009. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold beating them to it. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before the start of her professional career. She played during high school, and even before hitting the beach as a professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was remarkable. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans to make it to their first Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans up to the top of the mountain winning successive national titles. She had established her place as a legend winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. She continues to cherish her late parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration for her, both on and off the beach.
